One Year

Today was my birthday. I spent the entire day with my mommy and daddy. They stayed home from work and we had pancakes, we played, we went to the zoo, and I had ice cream. We are having a big birthday party tomorrow where I will get cake. I like this birthday thing, I hope that they are every day.

Easter Hunny

I had my first Easter and E. Bunny brought me a nice dress, some toys and some candy. I loved the dress, but I was even more interested in this strange “grass” in the basket E. brought me along with some plastic eggs that made fun noises when I shake them. E. also left some footprints to inspect. I wish he wouldn’t have wiped his feet on the back of my daddy’s black jacket.

Mary's easter gifts, A big plush chickie, some stackable rings, an easter basket, some books, a dress, and some blocks. Mary crawling and reaching out to her easter bunny easter basket while mommy is holding it just out of her reach. Mary in her dress wailing and crying. Mary sitting in her dress looking decidedly un-enthused.

Dining Out

I had breakfast at the Peak Grill the other day. I now, regularly, sit in a high chair by myself and eat food from my mommy and daddy’s plates.

Dancin’ Shoes

Here is a shot of a few of my first steps. Both mommy and daddy said that they can’t believe how much I have improved in just one week. I also give a few tips on how to dance so pay attention, and you may want to get a notebook and pencil to take notes.

My First X-Ray

Mary asleep in her car seat. You can see a nice purple bruise over her right eye. Mary sitting up in the doctor's office. You can see the eye has swollen up.So tonight I got my first X-Ray (now I know what the letter X is for). I was at daycare and I was learning to walk but I tripped and fell banging my right eye on the bookshelf. I cried. My mommy came and got me and by the time I got home I was happy again and trying to walk. But mommy and daddy were a little concerned and so they took me to the emergency room… again.

This hospital visit was at a different hospital and we were in and out much faster but they were concerned too so they took an x-ray of my face because they were worried that my orbital bone might have been fractured.

I practiced walking more while we waited to get x-rayed. I’m getting pretty good and I can take like 8 – 10 steps without falling.

We wore lead aprons and daddy had to hold my chin up so they could get a good picture. I cried. But now I have my first X-ray and even my daddy is in it You can see his hand under my chin. It looks like he is choking me. He-he.

Mary's x-ray. It looks normal and you can see daddy's hand under her chin.

Struttin’ My Stuff

So, I have a good video of me walking with my Mommy and Daddy but because my daddy forgot his camera at work we had to take it on the video camera and he doesn’t know how to get the videos off that onto the computer. Fortunately my teachers at took a good video of me at daycare struttin’ my stuff.

Sharing

I took some first steps this past Sunday so I am really busy refining my technique. Look for a video to come out soon highlighting my fancy footwork. Until then, share something you like with someone you love.
